As
a matter of History. When 15 Sqn RAF Regt. marched off the parade square
at RAF Luqa. Malta in 1971 at the end of the Dom Mintoff troubles, we sang
"The Yellow Ribbon". We formed up by Flights on the parade square and then
marched past a high ranking RAF officer who took the salute from the dais.
We were armed, dressed in combats and marched straight out to the Hercs
waiting to take us back to RAF Wittering.

She wore, she wore, she wore a yellow ribbon She wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May And if you ask her why the hell she wore it She wore it for that Rockape who was far far away (chorus)
And in the spring she had
a bouncing baby
Around the town she pushed
a perambulator
Behind the door her father
keeps a shotgun
